Kumsheen Rafting Resort

Hotel type accommodations in the great outdoors

I chanced upon this resort when I watched a TV series featuring the best of British Columbia. Situated in a special setting overlooking the Thompson River and White Canyon at Lytton, just a short drive from Vancouver, Kumsheen's main attraction is rafting. But what drew me to their resort was the unique type of accommodations they offer: Canvas Cabins and Teepees. Now, where else can you find those?

Before you cringe at the thought of such primitiveness, scroll down and check out the photos I've collected. If the dainty interiors of the cabins wouldn't pull you in, maybe the thought of stargazing while laying on your bed at night might. After all, the region is semi-arid desert and gets over 325 blue-sky days every year!

Teepees, anyone?
